My name is Suheil Yassin, 21 years of age (as of this time of writing).
I am a Palestinian by ethnicity (and an American by citizenship), though I have lived in the US, Libya, Canada and (several times going back and forth) here in Jordan.
I’ve known anime for most of my life, starting out with classics like Gundam Wing, Detective Conan, Slam Dunk and many shows which are part of the World Masterpiece Theater (like Remi, Heidi, Nadia: The secret of blue water and so on).
The show that made me fall head over heels for anime, however, was Hunter X Hunter.
I found the show very atmospheric, the characters very interesting and unorthodox and the strategies complex and plausible (an opinion I hold to this day).
I still consider Hunter X Hunter, to this day, one of my favorite shows of all time.
Another show I adored to hell and back was Digimon Tamers, with it’s amazing character dynamics and interesting ideas (my love for it remains to this day).
My introductory show into watching anime subbed was Naruto, which I found appealing at the time for many of the same reasons as Hunter X Hunter, though I became more and more disillusioned as time went by.
The show that dragged me into anime though was Code Geass, and it remains one of my favorite shows to this day (no matter how flawed it may be). The adrenaline, the energy and the sheer entertainment of being glued to my screen, dying for the next episode to happen is something I would never forget, and Lelouch’s charisma and style was something that I found a great deal of fun to watch.
I also was fond of many of the usual titles, those being the 2006 adaptation of Fate/Stay Night (I consider F/Z and F/SN UBW my favorite anime franchise of all time), Death Note, Yu Yu Hakusho, Bleach and Fairy Tail.
As I grew out of high school and started university, I became more fond of character driven shows rather than the usual plot-driven, action-filled shonen, like Oregairu, Clannad: After Story and rewatching many of the classics I loved like Slam Dunk and Hunter X Hunter (the remake started airing a year before I graduated high school).
Now, I’m a veteran of sorts (having seen over 500 entries on MAL) and a massive fan of SMT (especially P3 and P4), Type-Moon, Gundam, Eureka 7, Code Geass, Tales of, School Rumble, FMA, TWEWY and many, many more.
Welcome to this blog, and I hope you enjoy your stay.
